Sludge thickener tank walls poured

Last week, we shared about the progress and forward momentum the Build Team is achieving.

Crews finished the chlorine contact chamber foundation slab and buttoned-up the final rough-in of the future headworks and equalization tank.

We also completed the walls of the future sludge thickener, water level correction tanks, and made a lot of progress on the troughs inside the AquaNereda basin! This week we’re making great progress on the deep injection well pump discharge piping system.  Also, parts for the instrumentation will soon arrive on site and crews will finish making connections.

Finally, we poured the sludge thickener tank walls this morning!

Crews will finish this structure in the coming weeks before moving on to wrap up the chlorine contact chamber!

FPUA is grateful for this project with industry leaders Globaltech, Inc.Haskell and Hazen, the site designers and build team; TLC Diversified, Inc., re-routing the conveyance system to redirect wastewater flows away from the Indian River Lagoon; Kimley-Horn, the conveyance system designers, and the sub-contractors working so hard to keep this project safe and on schedule.

We are also thankful for the partnership with the City of Fort Pierce in this infrastructure improvement effort that will benefit the Fort Pierce community for generations.
