Future septic-to-sewer conversions are dependent on the availability of grant funding.

Project Summary: Fort Pierce Utilities Authority requested funds to construct the new WRF’s 8 MGD reuse water system that will immediately provide reuse water to cooling towers of the Treasure Coast Energy Center natural gas power plant, which is next door to the state-of-the-art water reclamation facility (WRF) that we are building and will eliminate an average withdrawal of 2.0 MGD from the Floridan Aquifer. The WRF will provide high-quality reuse water that is processed through AquaNereda® technology with a reuse water distribution capacity of 8 MGD and a storage capacity of 3 MGD. The reuse system will be designed initially to serve TCEC as well as provide WRF on-site irrigation and in-plant process water, with plans to provide reuse water to nearby Fort Pierce and unincorporated St. Lucie County customers in the coming years.
