Contact chamber foundation slab now finished

NEW UPDATE PHOTOS: Wastewater Wednesdays!

Last week, we shared about the progress across the jobsite of the electrical works and the contact chamber’s wall framing starting to take shape, plumbing rough-in of the operations and maintenance building, and going vertical with the chamber walls.

This week, we see the continuous progress and forward momentum the build team has achieved despite a wet summer thus far! Crews have finished the contact chamber foundation slab and are now moving on to frame the walls and catwalks over the coming weeks.

We can also see the first completed wall pour of the future sludge thickener and the water level correction tanks! Crews have also been busy buttoning-up the final rough-in and large diameter piping of the future headworks and influent equalization tank.

And finally, we get a sneak peek at some of the semi-completed concrete overflow channels and troughs inside the AquaNereda basin. These troughs will convey the treated wastewater to the filtering/disinfection phases of the process.

FPUA is grateful for this project with industry leaders Globaltech, Inc.Haskell and Hazen, the site designers and build team; TLC Diversified, Inc., re-routing the conveyance system to redirect wastewater flows away from the Indian River Lagoon; Kimley-Horn, the conveyance system designers, and the sub-contractors working so hard to keep this project safe and on schedule.

We are also thankful for the partnership with the City of Fort Pierce in this infrastructure improvement effort that will benefit the Fort Pierce community for generations.
