Roof decking panels, masonry work, chlorine contact chamber all progressing
NEW UPDATE: Wastewater Wednesdays!
The site is transforming quickly as construction moves forward. Last week, the chlorine contact chamber took a major step with its deck poured and freshly formed concrete walls outlining its footprint. The Operations & Maintenance building is also making headway, with interior work progressing in preparation for the roof installation. At the deep injection well site, critical pumps and equipment have arrived and are staged for installation as soon as the pad pedestals are finished. Over at the headworks, vertical construction is now underway after the slab and footers were completed.
This week, the second floor of the Operations & Maintenance building is seeing major developments. On the maintenance side, roof bar joists are being placed, providing the framework for the next phase of construction. Meanwhile, on the operations side, crews are installing roof decking panels and finishing the final plumbing work. Masonry work has officially started on the main electrical building, with walls beginning to take shape. Over at the deep injection well site, the concrete pedestals are now in place, setting the stage for future pump installations. Work at the chlorine contact chamber is also progressing, with additional structural elements coming together. Across the site, teams are moving full speed ahead, bringing each component closer to completion.
As always, we’d like to thank all of our partners, contractors, vendors, and crews who are helping us deliver this important project to our customers! FPUA is grateful for this project with industry leaders Globaltech, Inc., Haskell and Hazen, the site designers and build team; TLC Diversified, Inc., re-routing the conveyance system to redirect wastewater flows away from the Indian River Lagoon; Kimley-Horn, the conveyance system designers, and the sub-contractors working so hard to keep this project safe and on schedule.
We are also thankful for the partnership with the City of Fort Pierce in this infrastructure improvement effort that will benefit the Fort Pierce community for generations.
