Crews frame footers and slab in preparation for foundation concrete pours
NEW UPDATE: Wastewater Wednesdays!
Last week, crews made significant strides across the site. The pipe support structure at the Nereda basins continued to take shape, the second-floor roof bar joists were installed at the Operations & Maintenance building, and the final wall was poured for the chlorine contact chamber. We also hosted staff and engineers from Manatee County for a site tour, giving them a closer look at our advanced treatment process.
This week, major developments are underway at the headworks as crews frame the footers and slab, preparing for foundation concrete pours next week. Inside the Operations & Maintenance building, the maintenance floor slab is being poured, allowing teams to move forward with plumbing and electrical installations before the roof goes up. Meanwhile, work continues at the chlorine contact chamber, where preparations are being made for the installation of the catwalk and staircase steel. These additions will provide safe and efficient access for operations teams.
We also had the privilege of hosting our Utility Advisory Committee members for a project tour, showcasing the dedication and teamwork that make this progress possible. Every step brings us closer to enhancing our infrastructure and delivering long-term benefits to our community. Stay tuned for more updates!
As always, we’d like to thank all of our partners, contractors, vendors, and crews who are helping us deliver this important project to our customers! FPUA is grateful for this project with industry leaders Globaltech, Inc., Haskell and Hazen, the site designers and build team; TLC Diversified, Inc., re-routing the conveyance system to redirect wastewater flows away from the Indian River Lagoon; Kimley-Horn, the conveyance system designers, and the sub-contractors working so hard to keep this project safe and on schedule.
We are also thankful for the partnership with the City of Fort Pierce in this infrastructure improvement effort that will benefit the Fort Pierce community for generations.
