O&M building being prepped for concrete roof pour

NEW UPDATE: Wastewater Wednesdays!

Progress continues at a steady pace, bringing us closer to completion. The O&M building now has its roof sheeting fully installed, setting the stage for foam insulation and a concrete layer in the coming weeks. With the structure taking shape, interior work is set to advance. Over at the main electrical building, walls are now fully in place, and preparations are underway for the slab and roof installation. The headworks are also coming together as crews complete column framing, while rough-in work for the future pipe system is making strides—an essential step in supporting the flow equalization tank and optimizing wastewater management.

This week, crews are tackling multiple tasks at once. The O&M building is being prepped for its concrete roof pour, while masonry walls are being waterproofed in anticipation of the colored veneer block installation. Meanwhile, the Nereda basins have entered the hydraulic testing and sealing phase, getting them ready for in-tank equipment installation. And to celebrate the incredible efforts of the hardworking crews, our contractor partners hosted a well-earned BBQ lunch, bringing everyone together for a moment of appreciation.

Exciting progress is unfolding every day—stay tuned for more updates as we move closer to the finish line!

As always, we’d like to thank all of our partners, contractors, vendors, and crews who are helping us deliver this important project to our customers! FPUA is grateful for this project with industry leaders Globaltech, Inc., Haskell and Hazen, the site designers and build team; TLC Diversified, Inc., re-routing the conveyance system to redirect wastewater flows away from the Indian River Lagoon; Kimley-Horn, the conveyance system designers, and the sub-contractors working so hard to keep this project safe and on schedule.

We are also thankful for the partnership with the City of Fort Pierce in this infrastructure improvement effort that will benefit the Fort Pierce community for generations.
