Crews finishing wall on storage tanks

NEW UPDATE PHOTOS: Wastewater Wednesdays!

Last week, we shared unique photos of a storm-drenched construction zone, which was evacuated in advance of the oncoming hurricane.

This week, we can see steady progress all throughout the up-and-coming Water Reclamation Facility being built on Energy Lane. The crews are finishing wall on the storage tanks, which are taking shape and nearing completion. We can see rebar taking shape for the walls of the Chlorine Contact Chambers, which will be poured in the coming weeks. We can also see the framework being installed for the Aerated Sludge Holding Tanks, construction of the floor slab in the Equalization Basin, and the ductbank being installed near the ground storage tank. Crews are also installing pipe at the deep injection wells, which will guide treated water from the treatment plant over to the wells, and preparing for pressure tests.

FPUA is grateful for this project with industry leaders Globaltech, Inc., Haskell and Hazen, the site designers and build team; TLC Diversified, Inc., re-routing the conveyance system to redirect wastewater flows away from the Indian River Lagoon; Kimley-Horn, the conveyance system designers, and the sub-contractors working so hard to keep this project safe and on schedule.

We are also thankful for the partnership with the City of Fort Pierce in this infrastructure improvement effort that will benefit the Fort Pierce community for generations.
