Updates on critical infrastructure installments

NEW UPDATE: Wastewater Wednesdays!

Last week, crews wrapped up masonry work on the Main Electrical and Blower Buildings, setting the stage for upcoming roof and slab installations. Over at the O&M Building, the concrete roof pour was successfully completed, with teams now installing the final membrane layer to ensure long-term weather protection.

This week, we’re seeing steady progress across the site. Notable developments are underway on the Main Electrical Building, which will house the plant’s high-voltage switchgear and motor drives, along with a dedicated generator room for the relocated 3MW generator from the IWRF. Crews are also making strides on the headworks structure, as well as the influent and effluent piping and equalization tank systems—critical infrastructure that will support the plant’s future operations.

Every week brings us closer to completion. Stay tuned as we continue building a stronger, more resilient future for our community.

As always, we’d like to thank all of our partners, contractors, vendors, and crews who are helping us deliver this important project to our customers! FPUA is grateful for this project with industry leaders Globaltech, Inc., Haskell and Hazen, the site designers and build team; TLC Diversified, Inc., re-routing the conveyance system to redirect wastewater flows away from the Indian River Lagoon; Kimley-Horn, the conveyance system designers, and the sub-contractors working so hard to keep this project safe and on schedule.

We are also thankful for the partnership with the City of Fort Pierce in this infrastructure improvement effort that will benefit the Fort Pierce community for generations.
