New developments on exterior walls and second-floor decking

NEW UPDATE PHOTOS: Wastewater Wednesdays!

Last week, progress included the installation of second-floor joists and decking on the Operations and Maintenance building, with masonry walls rising in the maintenance bay. The main electrical building is nearing footer and slab completion, while the sludge holding tank's walls are finished and ready for plumbing. The flow equalization tank also advanced, critical for managing plant flows during start-up.

This week, progress continues with new developments on the exterior walls and second-floor decking of the Operations and Maintenance building. Crews will soon begin the masonry work on the second floor, aiming to complete this section by the end of the year. Additionally, work on the 42” influent lines, which will connect the future headworks to the treatment basins, is advancing. The influent equalization tank is also nearing completion, with wall panels and plumbing work nearly finished. Finally, the recent dry weather has allowed crews to make significant strides across the entire MWRF site, accelerating progress and keeping the project on track despite earlier delays from Hurricane Milton.

FPUA is grateful for this project with industry leaders Globaltech,. Haskell and Hazen, the site designers and build team; TLC Diversified, Inc., re-routing the conveyance system to redirect wastewater flows away from the Indian River Lagoon; Kimley-Horn, the conveyance system designers, and the sub-contractors working so hard to keep this project safe and on schedule.

We are also thankful for the partnership with the City of Fort Pierce in this infrastructure improvement effort that will benefit the Fort Pierce community for generations.
