Footers and slab framing nearing completion
NEW UPDATE PHOTOS: Wastewater Wednesdays!
Last week, we shared a flyover video of the new wastewater treatment plant under construction on Energy Lane. This unique perspective offers insights and context that photos couldn't fully capture.
This week, we are pleased to report significant advancements across the project. The Operations and Maintenance building now features newly installed second-floor joists and decking, while the masonry walls of the maintenance bay continue to rise. At the main electrical building, the footers and slab framing are nearing completion and will soon be ready for electrical conduit rough-ins.
The sludge holding tank has reached a key milestone, with the walls fully constructed and prepared for final finishing and plumbing installations. Additionally, substantial progress has been made on the flow equalization tank, which will play a crucial role in managing both initial and future plant flows during the start-up and transition phases.
FPUA is grateful for this project with industry leaders Globaltech, Inc., Haskell and Hazen, the site designers and build team; TLC Diversified, Inc., re-routing the conveyance system to redirect wastewater flows away from the Indian River Lagoon; Kimley-Horn, the conveyance system designers, and the sub-contractors working so hard to keep this project safe and on schedule.
We are also thankful for the partnership with the City of Fort Pierce in this infrastructure improvement effort that will benefit the Fort Pierce community for generations.
