Masons going vertical on the O&M building exterior walls
NEW UPDATE PHOTOS: Wastewater Wednesdays!
Last week, we shared about storm safety for construction zones and our preparation for Hurricane Helene. As the storm and rains approached, we began stowing and securing equipment, while efforts continued on connecting pipework for the treatment basins, slab framing and completing the first concrete pour for the operations and maintenance building foundation. Last week’s aerial photos showed how far the project has progressed since last year.
In this week’s photos, despite the rain bands last week and storm yesterday, we can see the masons have started going vertical on the O&M building exterior walls. We can also see further progress on the Nereda basin's 42" influent lines. And finally, subcontractors have begun the equalization tank's soil prep and slab framing.
FPUA is grateful for this project with industry leaders Globaltech, Inc., Haskell and Hazen, the site designers and build team; TLC Diversified, Inc., re-routing the conveyance system to redirect wastewater flows away from the Indian River Lagoon; Kimley-Horn, the conveyance system designers, and the sub-contractors working so hard to keep this project safe and on schedule.
We are also thankful for the partnership with the City of Fort Pierce in this infrastructure improvement effort that will benefit the Fort Pierce community for generations.
